How to pour a perfect Czech Lager

Proper pouring step by step

Clean the glass properly

Clean glasses are the basis of perfect pouring of excellent beer. Rinse the glass and clean it properly with clean and cold water using a clean sponge and a proper detergent.

Rinse the glass before pouring

Rinse the glass with clean, cold water immediately before pouring to make the glass as cold as possible. The ideal temperature is between 5° and 8°C. The right temperature is crucial for the proper pouring as well as for the final taste and aroma of the beer.

Proper pouring

If several minutes have passed since the last draft beer, tap out a small quantity of the beer. Then insert the faucet deep into the glass. Hold the glass at a 45° angle between the tap and the glass. The faucet should touch the glass. Open the tap slightly (approx. in between 4 and 5 o’clock) and create foam at the bottom of the glass. Then fully open the tap (6 o’clock) and pour the beer under the level of the foam until the glass is full. The faucet always stays in the same position.

Serve the beer on a beer mat. The beer has a thick, silky foam that protects the beer and keeps it fresher longer.
